February 2016 Yogi Surprise Unboxing
As a subscription box enthusiast, I like to keep abreast of the best deals that are available (and tweet + post on Facebook about them.) When I saw that Yogi Surprise was offering 50% off their popular box, I decided to see what they were all about!
The first item in the box was a bag of Emmy’s Raspberry Macaroons. Yum! They look delicious and I’m excited to try them. They also don’t expire until October 2016, so I don’t have to worry about them going bad before I can eat them. Although I doubt that’ll be a problem, because it’s probable I’ll finish them by the end of this week!
As for the estimated value of the item, a 2 oz package (the one I received) usually costs around $2.50. I noticed something strange in the item description card for this box, however. The picture on the item description card shows the bigger 6oz bag and values it at $6.50. So I’m not sure if they downgraded the item or if it was an oversight on the card. Regardless, the package of macaroons that I received is valued at $2.50.
The second item in the box was a cannister of Zhena’s Detox Renew Me tea. This cannister is a full-size item that contained 22 tea sachets with a mixed cranberry and ginger flavor. I like cranberry, but not ginger, so I’m not sure how much I’ll enjoy this tea, but I’ll give it a try. Whether I enjoy it or not, I appreciate getting a full-size item rather than one or two sample sachets as are normally sent in subscription boxes. This cannister is valued at $7.
The third item was a Dive-in Deck. This deck includes a cute tin filled with full-color cards that have positive affirmations on them. It’s a neat item that fits well with the lifestyle curation of the Yogi Surprise boxes. Although not the most useful item, the affirmations are nice and the product is well-made. It sells for $20 online.
The fourth item was an Aura Cacia Chakra aromatherapy roll-on. The particular variety is called “Insightful Third Eye” and the scent is a mixture of rosemary and lavender. Lavender is one of my favorite scents, so I’m very happy with this item. This perfume sell for about $13 usually.
The fifth item was a jar of Joshua Island Healing Salve. I was incredibly pleased to see this item, because I’d just gotten a chemical burn the previous day that was causing me trouble. I’ve been using this healing salve and I believe it’s been helping the burn heal. This was a well-timed arrival of a useful product. This jar is valued at $18.
The sixth item was a packet of Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co spinach seeds. I don’t have a garden or outside area to plant, so I’m not sure I’ll be able to make sure of these, but they’re a fun item to have in the box. I have a gardener friend whom I might give them to. This packet sell from Baker Creek for $2.
The seventh and final item was a full-size bag (4.7 oz) of Bark Thins in the dark chocolate almond with sea salt variety. I’ve had Bark Thins before and they taste delightful, so I’m certain I’ll enjoy this product. Again, I’m happy to have received a full-size product. These bags sell at retail stores for around $4.
Overall, the February 2016 Yogi Surprise box contained $66.50 worth of items. Even at the full box cost of $45, this box provided a great deal. Considering I paid only $22.50 using the coupon, I was extremely pleased with everything I received. The box not only provides a good value, but the items inside are all products that I can put to use.
