December 2015 "Guardians of the Galaxy" Marvel Collector Corps Review
I loved the last Marvel Collector Corps box that I opened, so when I saw another on my doorstep, I rushed to open it. I wasn’t disappointed! The theme this month was Guardians of the Galaxy and the variety of items was very well-received on my part. Each box also comes with a collectible pin and patch that I haven’t included in this post; you can see them in the unboxing video instead.
The first item I took out of the box was an adorable Rocket Raccoon and Groot comic with an exclusive variant cover. The cover is SUPER CUTE and perfect for Christmas. This comic is valued at $5.
The second item was a set of (also adorable) RR and Groot Bobblers. These little guys are mini bobbleheads that can also be hung as tree ornaments. Like the variant cover, they came decorated for Christmas. These are currently selling for $20.
The third item was a Starlord ceramic mug - perfect for drinking hot cocoa and tea in the chilly winter months! As shown in my video, the detail on the mug is decent and it’s big enough to hold a good amount of liquid. The estimated value of the mug is $15.
The fourth and final item was a GotG-themed scarf that features Groot on one side and the silhouettes of different GotG characters on the other side. Some people might be disappointed that the box features a scarf rather than a t-shirt; I, on the other hand, love it! I have way more shirts than I can wear, so I appreciate other types of wearables. The scarf is also well-timed for the cold weather around this time of year. Scarves like these usually sell for around $15.
Overall, the December Marvel Collector Corps box, which costs $25, contained over $50 in value. I was really impressed with this box. Not only did it contain a collection of unique and usable items, but they did a great job adjusting the items to fit the winter months. Each item was well-suited for the season, with the comic cover and Bobblers being the most explicit examples. However, even the scarf and mug are suited for this time of year. My favorite subscription box items are ones that I know I’ll put to use, and I’m happy to say all of these items pass that test.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary box for reviewing purposes.
