October 2015 OrangeGlad Unboxing
As I mentioned in my Bocandy review, I love sweets. Bocandy satisfied my candy craving, but I wanted to try some other types of sweet foods too. After researching boxes, I decided on OrangeGlad as my box to satisfy that desire.
The first item I took out of the box was a cannister of Salem Baking Co Pumpkin Spice Cookies. This item instantly impressed me because the container looks impressive, although a dent in the top takes away from the appearance a bit. I haven’t tried the cookies yet and I might not; considering how nice the item looks, I might gift it to someone who enjoys pumpkin products more. The estimated value is $5.
The second item was a Rip Van Wafel Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt waffle. I was ecstatic to see this. I absolutely LOVE dark chocolate. I ate this shortly after I finished recording the video and the product was just as delicious as I’d expected. At 130 calories per waffle, this is an item I might actually order on my own in the future. The estimated value of one is $1.50.
The third item was a Cheryl’s Fall Harvest Buttercream Cookie. I haven’t eaten the item yet, so I can’t comment on the taste. However, it seemed to be in impressive condition for a buttercream cookie from when I tested the frosting. Usually the frosting is hard on those types of cookies when received in the mail, indicating that the cookie is stale, but I think the buttercream cookie was still fresh. I plan to eat it before Halloween. On that note, the pumpkin design is well-suited to the season and I’m happy they put it in the box. The estimated value is $2.
The fourth item was a bag of two Bella Sophia Baking Co cranberry almond biscotti. Honestly, I’m not big into biscotti. That might partly be because I don’t drink coffee, and I know biscotti are popular to eat with coffee. I’ll probably gift this item to someone. The estimated value is $1.50.
The final item was an A Couple of Squares Maple Pecan Shortbread cookie. I ate this cookie and it was okay. The maple flavor didn’t come through as much as I had hoped and I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to get this cookie. However, it was satisfactory. The estimated value was $2.
Overall, the box contained sweets valued at $12. Because OrangeGlad costs $19 when including shipping, I’m a bit disappointed in the box’s value. I also wasn’t very enthusiastic about any of the items except the dark chocolate waffle. I bought this box with a coupon that made the value much more palatable, but I wouldn’t order it at full price.
