POPSUGAR 2016 Limited Edition Women's Winter Box
POPSUGAR offers a monthly subscription box of the top finds in fashion, beauty, home, and more through their Must Have service. I have previously bought one POPSUGAR Must Have box, for which you can read the review here:
In addition to their monthly subscription, POPSUGAR occasionally offers limited edition boxes. One of these is the Limited Edition Winter Women's box. This box is pricier than the Must Have box at a cost of $100, but also offers a far greater value.
$100 is a bit more than I’d normally spend on a mystery box, but POPSUGAR provided two spoilers for the box’s contents and I enjoyed both of them. One of the spoilers was worth more than $100 on its own, so I decided that the POPSUGAR Limited Edition Winter Women's box would be my Christmas present to myself. Let’s look at what came inside!
The first item I took out of the POPSUGAR 2016 Limited Edition Winter Women's box was a Snow Hobnail Reed Diffuser from Simpatico.
The box comes with reeds, scented oil, and a beautifully-designed diffuser. The diffuser has a bubbled texture that looks luxe while simultaneously fitting in well with the holiday theme.
It’s not just the diffuser that’s holiday-themed, though. The included oil has a scent of peppermint with vanilla, which evokes the feelings of the holidays. I love the sweet aroma.

The second item I withdrew was a Tiny Satchel from the Cambridge Satchel Company. This is one of the two spoiler items I saw, and initially I planned to keep it for myself. However, I didn’t realize it was made with real leather. I’m trying to avoid using and wearing leather products, so I’ll probably gift this to someone else.
Putting the leather component aside, the bag is equally cute and classy.
Estimated value: $95 (Source: CambridgeSatchel.com)
The third item was an eyeshadow palette from Cargo Cosmetics in an “Around the World” variety. First of all, I was impressed with the packaging on this product. The actual palette comes in a themed box.
I also liked that the box not only displayed the colors, but also gave suggestions for how to apply them. As a newbie to the field of makeup application, I will likely be referencing the box’s guide when I start using the eyeshadow.

The fourth item was a tin of truffles from Louis Sherry. I’d never heard of Louis Sherry before, but the tin looked fancy, and the truffles did too.
The tin contained six different types of truffles and came with a nifty info card to reveal what flavors were contained in each truffle. I’m tempted to gift these for the sake of my diet, but I might not be able to resist trying them myself.
Estimated value: $28 (Source: Louis-Sherry.com)
The fifth item was a bottle of Tinsel Smoothing Oil from R + Co. In the past smoothing oils have left my hair feeling greasy, but this one has good reviews, so perhaps I won’t have the same problem.
Estimated value: $24 (Source: NeimanMarcus.com / Amazon.com)
The sixth and final item was the one that convinced me to get the box: a Charcoal Muskoka Throw from Pehr Designs. This was the other box spoiler, and I’d been in the market for a blanket, so I knew that at the very least I’d be getting one luxe item I could use.
Here is a picture of the throw on my full-size bed so you can get an idea of its size. I’ll be keeping it on my sofa.
Estimated value: $136 (Source: ShopSpring.com / HudsonAndVine.com)
Overall, the POPSUGAR 2016 Limited Edition Winter Women's box contained about $333 worth of items. For a box that costs $100, that’s a great value! Of course, you have to consider whether you personally value the items the same way. I wouldn’t ordinarily buy these items at their regular prices. However, that’s why I enjoyed this box - it allowed me to splurge on some luxury goods that I normally wouldn’t have bought. You should also consider that the items are all individually wrapped, so if you don’t like one of them, you can gift it to someone.
Value aside, I LOVED the variety of the box. It was a perfect combination of home, beauty, food, and fashion. Although I could regift some of the items, I like all of them so much that I’ll probably end up keeping them for myself.
All in all, while I can’t afford to be a regular consumer of the POPSUGAR boxes, I’m happy I splurged on this one. Although I wouldn’t have paid full price for any of these items, I’m satisfied with having gotten all of them for $100 total.
