February 2016 SQUIX QBox Unboxing
SQUIX is an online store for cleaning and sanitation products that recently introduced a monthly subscription box called a QBox. They offered this subscription box for free to the first 1,000 subscribers, so I decided to give it a chance.
The first item I took out of the box was a small bottle of hand sanitizer. I believe this is a bonus item they included in the box rather than one of the main items, but it’s cool regardless - hand sanitizer is always useful. I value the small bottle at $1.
The second item was a set of two Steripods. These devices are little clips you can put on the end of your toothbrush to protect the bristles and sanitize them. Of all the items in the box, I think this is my favorite. My cat has a tendency to lick my toothbrush (super gross!) and I’m happy I have a protective cap to use on them now. The sanitizing factor is an added bonus. This set of two Steripods retails for $6.
The third item was a canister of Lysol disinfecting wipes. These wipes are my primary cleaning tool already, so having a refill is always good! I’m sure to get use out of them. This canister usually sells for $5.
The fourth item, which I believe was another sample item, was a package of automotive wipes. I don’t have a car currently, but I might be able to use these on my bicycle. If not, I’ll save them for when I have a car, or I’ll gift them to a friend. These are a small, but useful item that I’d value at $1.
The fifth item was a set of Phone Soap microfiber patches that are intended to clean the screen of phones. I’ve seen this type of product being frequently given out as promotional items, so I think they’re becoming more common in use. Because they’re so common, I think they might be overvalued at the price of $5. Like the other items in the box, they are at least useful.
Overall, the SQUIX box offered $18 worth of products. Was it worth it? For the price of “free”, which I paid, certainly. For the regular $21.98 price? I’d say it depends. If you go to the grocery store frequently and can purchase these products on your own, you’ll likely want to forego this box and save money by buying each product yourself. However, if you prefer the convenience of being able to try new cleaning products and having the products directly delivered to your house, the extra $4 or so that you pay over the products’ prices might be worthwhile to account for curation and shipping.
If you’re interested in SQUIX, you don’t need to invest a full $21.98 to determine whether it suits your needs. SQUIX is currently offering your first box for only $10.99. Considering my box contained $18 worth of product, that’s a great deal. To redeem the offer, just click here and order the QBox.
