February 2016 "Deadpool" Marvel Collector Corps Review
I’ve been seeing posts about the new “Deadpool” box from Marvel Collector Corps and had to use all my willpower to resist spoiling myself! It paid off, though, because I got my own box shortly after, and greatly enjoyed opening it and seeing all the fun items inside.
As with all Marvel Collector Corps boxes, the first items you see after opening the box are the patch and pin they include based on the box’s theme. I still haven’t decided what to do with these, but once I figure it out, I think I’ll appreciate them a lot. They’re fun items to collect, consistent with the box’s name.
The first real item in the box was a Deadpool POP! t-shirt. I’m not big into t-shirts because I already have more than I can wear, but like the pins and patches, I hope to discover a use for them in the future. Either way, this shirt features a fun, exclusive design.
The second item was a Deadpool comic book with a special variant POP! cover. This is a cute item that demonstrates Wade’s love of chimichangas. I’m more into comics than shirts and pins/patches, but this will likely remain in the seal to preserve the image on the cover.
The third item was a Deadpool Mopeez plushie. I LOVE plushies, so I was really happy to see this. The design is adorable like regular POPs, but in a soft, cute plushie form. I sometimes give plushies to my cat to play with, but I will keeping this one for myself!
The fourth item was a Deadpool POP! BOBBLEHEAD. If you’ve seen my previous Marvel Collector Corps unboxings, you’ll know that I can’t resist bobbling the bobbleheads! (And I also seem to have trouble not knocking them over…) This bobblehead is a special “leaping” Deadpool that comes with a cool stand on which he can rest. Nothing can compare to the Hulkbuster bobble from the Avengers box, but this is a close second!
The fifth and final item was a Deadpool Dorbz figure of the “cowboy” variant. By nature of being a Dorbz, the figure is absolutely adorable. And by nature of being a cowboy, he comes with a neat hat and little pony on a stick. Combined, these features make for a cute, fun figure to add to my collection.
Overall, I was very happy with the “Deadpool” Marvel Collector Corps box! I was a bit worried because I haven’t been very fond of the contents of Funko’s recent Smuggler’s Bounties (which is why I don’t order them), but the Marvel Collector Corps boxes have not yet disappointed me. I appreciate that they contain a variety of Funko’s product lines instead of containing a bunch of POP figures (although I like that they include 1 or 2 each time.) Marvel Collector Corps has consistently been a great way for people to get their hands on exclusive, Marvel-themed figures and other merchandise.
